Question QG18DE Mechanical And Electrical Problems

Ok so I upgraded my 00 Sentra GXE by adding Headers, Cold Air Intake, crank pulley and totally rebuild my engine by porting and polishing the heads, bigger side Pistons but no compression on them just stock, i opened up the intake and exhaust manifold and removed the butterfly system on the intake manifold that the 00-01 have. My problem now is that my car after all this upgrades is giving me worst performance than stock and on top of that is burning my gas twice than before so instead of doing the 300 mi it did before in a full tank is doing 120 mi. friends at Nissan dealer said that it is because there is a high flow of air coming in to the engine and the ECU is acting up because it can't regulate the air coming in. That's why neither Nismo nor any of the top brands for CAI have been making them for this model. Also since I put a Hotshot Header and the header made for this model doesn't come with the CAT, having to remove one cat and relocating two of the O2 sensors until after the second CAT might be some of the problem.......the problem that i have in the car right now is that is burning too much gas but is acting like it needs more gas because when i put my foot in the pedal it star to kindda jump a little and there it isn't much reaction of performance.: confused: ....A friend a Nissan dealer said that if I send the ECU to "JET Performance" to have them upgrade the computer software and change some applications on the ECU of the changes made to the engine so that ECU let more air come in and out......A mechanic friend says that it could be my fuel pump or the filter of the gas but I Found out that the only filter is attached to the fuel pump so I would have to replace the hall thing....What should I Do...?

You should be able to replace the fuel filter without changing the pump. Fuel filters are just attached to the bottom of the pump nowadays.

Secondly, your friend is right. After all of the modifications you have done, your ECU will be in need of reprogramming. I suggest you call them and tell them everything that you have done to your car, so they better understand what they will need to re-tune to get your car running better.

How about the o2 sensor and the MAF sensor would that have anything to do with my problem or would it get fix by doing the re-tuned?

Your MAF and o2 sensors SHOULD be okay, with a retune. The MAF can handle a turbo system and not need upgrading, and your o2 sensors should be okay unless they're really old, and/or you're running way too rich and have fouled them.

A re-tune is your best bet at this point. I wouldn't guarantee you would see 30mpg anymore, as you're still going to use more fuel as you're sucking more air, but you shouldn't see as low as 120mpt.

No problem. Just make sure you call them and talk to them about what's going on with it, and what you've done to your car. Then as a re-assurance method, attach paper showing what you have done to your car, to your ECU. This will help them better tune your ECU (It's obviously better to tune an ECU while it's still in the car, so they know exactly how to map everything) But if you can be as detailed as possible, I'm sure they'll fix it up nice.

ok, so! I got my ECU back from JET Performance and I installed it on my car but now i got service engine check soon, there are 3 codes; P0171 system too lean(bank 1) P0175 system too rich(bank 2) and P171 again.......what to do, what to do?
The weird thing is that after all these performance parts that were add to the car the same codes came on but then they when away, but now after the ECU upgrade they are back and it's got to do with me changing the header and relocating the secopndary o2 Sensors after the second CAT......Help!
