2006 1.8S Special Edition Mods

Looking for some tips on modding the 1.8. Nothing outrageous but would like to know some opinions on:

CAI's, Headers, downpipes, exhaust, Biggest and widest tire combo's that won't require much modifications to keep from rubbing.

thanks

I recommend the HKS Sport cat-back exhaust. Originally designed for the 00-01 SE 2.0's but they fit perfectly, and sound great.

Hopefully someone else can recommend the CAI and other stuff for you. Personally don't have any experience with those.
Sorry couldn't be much help.

Yeah the HKS catback is a simple bolt-on looks & sounds great and adds a few hp. Fujita makes a cai for the 06 1.8s, as for wheels-tires 17s work nicely with 215-45-17 tires.

I wouldn't recommend buying anything from Fujita, their cameras suck! Buy a Hotshot CAI

Didn't know Fujita made cameras, thought it was Fuji... Anyways Fujita is an offshoot of Injen, and they have been making intakes for years...

Hi, I have a 2001 sentra se, so that HKS exhaust is a good buy eh? I showed it to one of my friends who sorta leans toward the whole "domestics are better" category but has a somewhat open mind and he said it was just the muffler for 400 some odd dollars, not a system. Is this true?

The HKS Sport catback for the 00-01 SE is a complete system NOT just a muffler, check out 2kracing.com it's $417 shipped from them. That's where i bought mine ... BTW tell your buddy to do a little more research next time.

Hotshot is the way to go when looking for a CAI. I have one on my 2002 xe and it was worth the money.

Weapon R and Fujita make a fit CAI for the QG18DE. You can get any CAI from the 2.0 to fit the 1.8. I've even seen people use QR25 Nismo CAI's on QG18's.. they were just slightly adjusted to fit properly.

I'd recommend a Weapon R short ram intake personally. Based on the QG18, it'l give you the same performance as a CAI. Only it'll be $100 cheaper, and because it's short ram.. you'll never have to worry about hydrolock or anything.
