Bad Headgasket ? How hard to change, brother in law gave my daughter his 2001 gxe 1.8 car is punking white smoke , he had at dealer #2 cylinder has coolant init and running lean code gave him a 6800 figure to fix , so now i t is in my garage so my daughtrer can have a better car , is there any big problems with this motor ? car has 160000 on it , stutters horrible , definatly down a cylinder no knocking worth doing the head gasket if these motors dont have any other problems , havent worked on nissans before , mostly bmw and volkswagons

oh man your fucked. if you are a mechanic you can use a quicker short cut but i dont reccomend it. i would do it the right way by clamping and disconnecting the fuel lines and all that jazz and taking the whole cylinder head off. you can do it yourself, it will just take lots of time.
