i didn't have to cut the cat off to weld a flange on it because i got a cat from someone with a 00-01 gxe...FYI the cats on the 00-01 GXEs are just bolt on so it's a lot easier just finding one of those or buying one of those instead of paying for the welding...at least IMO...anyways yeah the 03s and up have only 2 o2 sensors and so you need to plug one into the header and the second one down by your exhaust you'll have to extend to plug into the o2 bung you'll have welded on after the cat....the hotshot header comes with a wire to do that but like i stated previously the problem isn't in fitment of the header or anything..the problem is where to plug the o2 sensor in the header since either way the o2 sensor won't read right since it'll only be reading one of the pipes in the header...
so what should i do? wait for someone to come out w/ a header for my 06model?

yes thats what i think im going to do, i have an 04.
Or does someone know if the Spec stock header will fit up. cause i just got a Greddy Evo 2 exhaust for a spec for xmas and put it on my 1.8. it fits except the back with the muffler hooks, one is on the wrong side. I had a sutom piping with 2.5" pipe, but now i feel more power out of the car and its not as loud inside the car, witch was nice on the 2 hour drive to orlando. Outside it sounds clean. So if the header will fit, it will be aftermarket for the 1.8 cause its bigger anyways.
something about the new engines and the EGR tube, and sensors. That you have to relocate the 02 sensors, and something else.
I don't know, but I need a header badly.
If you need a header badly you have two choices.
Wait...
Or figure out how to make the existing QG header work. Rather than sit back and wait why not make this one work? The GA16 guys have had to relocate the O2 sensor's on our cars for years, that and figure out what is needed to make the EGR work correctly. Again the GA16 guys had to use a 1998 spec EGR pipe on the 96-97 cars....
You can do this by figuring out the exact differences on the EGR setups. You can use the FSM or someone from a Nissan dealership with access to the FAST system to see what exactly is different.
dont u think thats too much hassle for the money ill be paying for?
450+shippin to modify the new part?
i guess i rather just wait for a header to come out... ill do cai, exhaust for now i guess
Not if you want it as badly as you have lead us to believe in your posts. Your not modifying the part itself, you are changing other things. Even when the header comes out you will still have to relocate the O2 sensor, so you are only waiting for someone to work out the EGR issue. You are not paying for the world here, it will take some work to make it fit, but you will also potentially be the first to do it.
It seems from your post that you just want plug and play and everything to work perfect, if thats the case wait for a header and install instructions, just don't be surprised when you have to do some work to get it to work right. You are modifying a car, NOTHING is ever truly 100% plug and play, there is ALWAYS something that needs to be worked out.
Ok, but it's kind of hard to modify things considering i have barely any mechanic experience. Of course iwouln't mind doing myself if i knew how to, but i don't, and i dont feel like learning on a 2006 model so that i can screw something up and end up paying more than what the header is worth.

I understand, in which case the choice is clear, you wait until it has been fully documented and can purchase it and entrust a professional to install it.
What is differnet between the previous QG and the 06 version?
The difference between 00-02 QGs and 03+ QGs are that the 00-02 have 4 o2 sensors while the 03+ have only 2 o2 sensors. That's why the hotshot works great for the 00-02 QGs since they have 2 o2 sensors to plug into the o2 bungs and they just relocate the bottom o2 sensors to after the cat. For the 03+ we have one o2 sensor for the header and one for the exhaust so the hotshot header fits but the o2 sensor won't work right since it's not reading all the pipes and is just reading one of the pipes. If you look at the nismo header that's out for the QR25DE you can see that the o2 bung is located where all 4 pipes join into one so that it'll read it correctly.
As for waiting for hotshot to release a header for the 03+ I'm not sure if they will. I've been in contact with them and it seems that they won't since the QG market isn't too lucrative. My car runs fine with the header on but like I've stated before the o2 sensor isn't reading correctly so my car tends to run rich. I've had a friend with an 03 end up running too rich because his o2 sensor in his exhaust got messed up and he ended up flooding his motor a few times. Anyways, I'm going to end up buying an apexi safc-2 and having a local shop tune my car so it'll run right with my mods and if I do that then it shouldn't be too big of a deal that my o2 sensor in my header is only reading one of the pipes. So yeah if you really want the header then get it but buy a safc-2 with it and get it installed by a professional and tuned by them and your car will be fine.
As for my 04 I'm running fine so far although I have a SES light on which I'll end up getting read eventually. I've learned to live with the light on and I check my car from time to time to make sure I don't see any leaks or anything strange happening so up to you whether you'll buy the header for your 06 or not. Either way good luck with it and let me know if you need any advice or help.
