Just got a new Sentra!!

Just got back from driving my new 2002 Sentra GXE.

Got done signing the papers this evening. I was alittle disapointed that I tried out for the 2003 Spec-V but the monthly payment was way over my budget. At the same time I was happy with the cash I saved and after reading all the threads I was really happy.

As a newbie to Nissan I have lots of questions, I'm pretty sure I can get some answers from this forum.

Here's a dumb newbie question, I did alot of search to find out what my engine was, but just to make sure...the 2002 Sentra GXE carries the QG18 1.8L engine correct?

I'm looking to get my first upgrade, was thinking about a Hotshot intake to start. Thanks for the help.

WELCOME

Congrats and welcome to the boards. Yes your GXE comes with a QG18DE (1.8) engine unless you got the GXE-L which is a QR25DE (2.5) but I belive they are only 2003's. The Spec is a nice car (but has its "new production car problems") and for the price it cant be beat. But............pretty much everyone here chose the QG for its price not so much the performance (although we have the best in it's class IMO) but there is enough stuff out there to keep the mod bug bites to a minimum. I have the HS intake and love the sound as well as the midrange power. Again welcome to the boards.

I also highly recommend the HS intake.

if you save up and are patient, buy the HS intake and header directly from Hotshot and you get 10% off. And believe me, the header is worth EVERY penny!

Thanks guys, Looking forward to share stories and of course ask questions kekeke!! I think purchasing the intake and header is a good idea. I think I should be able to swing a budget for that.

Also. Will 2001 QG18DE products fit on the 2002? how about SER products?

nope, they can't..........the sizes are too different.......that is engine parts..................suspension can............B15 parts are pretty much interchangeable except for engine mods.
