You are more likely to not pass the nspection if you remove the cat.

Yeah, you would probably fail. Just take the muffler off, I did. It's not too much work to take off, and it sounds like a real ricer.

I just got my cat takin off today... The people at the muffler place said that my car a 02 gxe has 2 converters... i took off the one right after the resonator.. I also have a cherrybomb muffler at the end.. takin off the cat u can feel a slight change in low-end torque but other than that nothing... It didnt change the sound etheir.
taking off the cat should have resulted in better high end performance, or so id think. thats the problem with catalytic convertors, is how they restrict breathing, so at higher rpms your car will breathe better.

The OEM Nissan cat is a very well designed piece. It flows very well and really does not hurt performance. I made 252WHp through the stock cat. When you remove it you are really doing nothing but grossly polluting.

ya know wes, maybe you should have a test pipe fitted in and dyno it to prove your theory, and you'd then have proof that you don't need to remove your cat.
