P0455 code on an 01 GXE

I wonder if someone can help me... Got my Check Engine light about a month ago. Had Autozone run the codes for me last night and they came up with two codes; P0455 and P1448. Not sure what the 1448 one is (may not be a legit code?) but the 0455 is listed as Evaporative Emission Control System Tank Detected (gross leak).

Can someone elaborate on this one for me? I searched this forum and came up with this thread that seemed to insinuate that this may have been caused by a faulty gas cap?

Thread LINK

Is this the case? What should I try?

Thanks for the help guys!

A couple of things are going on here. Everyone says that it's always a gas cap loose, NOT! Rarely this is the case. A majority of the times it's a stuck open vent control valve or the EVAP canister has fine cracks, where the vent control valve attaches to the canister, with 10mm bolts. The dealership will need to apply pressure to the EVAP system and while watching the Nissan CONSULT, will let the technician know if a major(gross) leak exists. On a Sentra like yours, it will be easy to find...

I read on this board that you can get under there and spray some WD-40 in the valve to loosen it up. Is that something worth trying or should I just go to the dealer?

I am having this same problem with my spec-v. Does this need to be taken care of at a dealership or would a local garage be able to locate a leak.
Thanks

I have the same problem.. p0455 on my 2002 sentra gxe 1.6liter.

I have replaced the canister and the control valve, still coming up with 455 code. Smoke test done and no leaks detected.

Could this possibly be a bad sensor? Any other ideas as to what's going on?

Ive come across this before and replaced all of the evap components, to find out it was a shorted ECM. Damn I was pissed. Good luck- you really need to take this to a reputable dealer
