My girlfriend just recently bought a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s
and we're trying to figure out just what the S at the end stands for.... anyone wanna help me out?

doesn't stand for anything, it's just a trim level. It replaces "GXE"

where the XE model is now the 1.8, the GXE model is now the 1.8s.
