Now with 89K miles, it is demonstrating those same symptoms again. My sister-in law has the exact same car (color and everything!) and it starts hard in the same manner. Anyone have any thoughts?

I've heard it's a problem with the QR powered cars, but not the QG's. Let the pump prime, then start the car. You can hear the pump whine if you turn the key to acc (but don't start the car yet). Once it's done, then try to start it. Suppposedly, it helps with warm starts.
