Question 95 pathfinder electrical problems

i have a 95 pathfinder. it's got about 135,000 on it, and i've been having strange problems. for starters (and this has been happening awhile) occasionally, i'll go to start the car, i'll turn the key, and nothing will happen. the battery will turn on the lights, etc. but the engine doesn't go. it won't rev the engine or anything... only battery. it may happen a few times then randomly start, or sometimes it will be stubborn and i'll get out and play with the battery wires and then it will start.

now, recently, i've been having a problem where when i make a right turn (and only when i make a right turn) the car will simply lose power and turn off. sometimes, if i'm still coasting, i kick the car into neutral and restart it. sometimes, though, it won't restart. it will turn on and rev, but it won't turn over. after trying for about a half hour, i'll go home for awhile, hang out for a few hours, go back to it, and it will start fine. i even had it towed to my mechanic only for it to work beautifully in the morning when they received it. the mechanic suggested it may be some module piece, which he replaced, and it didn't help. has anyone ever heard of this problem? every mechanic i know is stumped.

You just answered your own question, and what I would do is replace the positive battery cable because that is the number one place electrical problems occur.

If you have ever cleaned or washed acid off those posts, this acid will have the tendency to travel down the inside strands and eat those wires up which causes them to become resistive before totally dead or open. Of course you would never know this because the acid does not affect the plastic jacket.
