Very Hot Hood

I have a 2001 Pathfinder, which is my 6th if you count a QX-4,(my last car) Anyway the hood just over the right wheel well is extremely hot to touch. I have never had any problems with all the models I have had. I don't want a fire, Does anyone know what would cause the upper corner of the fender and hood, just over wheel well, to get to hot to touch?? Any help would be appreciated

Has your exhaust rusted? Mine did and when I stood near the front of my car it felt hotter than normal.

Is this with the A/C running (or shortly after)? The A/C lines run over there. The best way to diagnose this is to open the hood and feel around - be careful about touching anything or you may get a blister.

At least you have your priorities straight - tires before the hole in the floor.
We used street signs instead of cookie sheets. They're thicker, don't rust and most important FREE.
