auto window - adjustable??

It seems rare to have a power window with an auto feature in both the down (perfectly safe) and in the up direction (yikes, what if something gets caught in the window when it's going up?).

That having been said, I love the fact that my '02 Pathfinder SE does have an auto switch that brings the window up. And, of course, there is a safety feature that stops and drops the window back down about 3 inches if it detects something in the way.

But now... my drivers window has begun to drop back down 3" when it hits the highest point instead of going to the top and staying closed.

**THE QUESTION IS... is this adjustable for pressure or for distance? I liked it better when it went to the top and stopped and didn't come back down again.

Thanks,

Kaminski64

There is usually a way to recalibrate the anti-pinch. On my Saab you roll it down till about 3 inches from the bottom. Then you roll it up to the top with your finger on the button and hold it for a few seconds after it reaches the top. Hopefully it works the same way on the Pathy. Let me know if it works. I can't test it on ours, because the wife has it right now.

Look in the channel and make sure there isn't anything stuck in the there that could be causing the window to sense something is in the way. It could also be a bad sensor as in most cars it multiple sensors not just one that goes all the way around. I personnaly wish all four windows were auto up/down, they are on my BMW and I find myself getting irritated at having to hold the buttons if I lower all the windows when I'm in the Pathi.

Yeah there is a recalibration, you will need to remove the door panel. Where the motor is mounted there is a little black button on the motor itself. Roll the window up, then press the button, as you roll the window down (not using the auto function), let go of the button, the roll the window up ( not using the auto function). When it gets to the top, it is set, I suggest trying it before you put the panel back on though.
