Help!! My window is stuck open!!

I have a '98 Pathfinder, and my driver's side window is stuck wide open. I disassembled the door panel to try and get at it, and had no luck dislodging it. When I try and close (or open) it, I hear nothing. This leads me to believe that the motor must be shot. All of the other windows open and close just fine from the driver's side controls, so I doubt if it is a fuse issue. Would my diagnosis make sense? I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a way that I can get the window shut until I am either able to find a new motor and replace it myself, or get it into the dealership to have them fix it. I live in a fairly safe neighborhood, but the car is parked on the street and the idea of my window being wide open all night long is a little disconcerning. If there is anyone with any ideas/remedies I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

It could be possible that your switch is damaged. Have you thought about getting some wires and rewiring the driver side motor to the other doors? It may not be the motor.

I don't know if the rear side door motors would fit, but it may be possible to do some swapping, just to get it closed and figure it out later, since security of your Pathfinder is an issue.

Good luck!

Did you get a ammeter to test the circuit? If there is current, probably the motor is shot; if not, then test the switch.

You can use some plastic wrap or even a garbage bag to cover your windows until you get if fixed.
