1990 Pathfinder no engine Power

Hi i am a new member from Austin Tx,with a 1990 pathfinder . I installed a flow meter ground kit and that did now improve any thing. I am a Honda tech . Is it common for the timing belt to get loose enough to retard the drivers cam and distriburator enough to just run having a max speed of 45 to 50 with no passing power . It will not go up any small grade I will be retrieving my loaned out fuel pressure gauge tomorrow. Any help would be very helpful. With over 200k I may be time for a T Belt waterpump and cam seals. Thank's Pat

if im not mistaken the catalitic converter does nothing but burn excess fuel.....how could that be a power loss problem?

i personally have no idea what that problem could be. is this an automatic?

Cat converters can get clogged causing poor exhaust.
The problem may be cause by a bad TPS or MAF (or connection to these).

If the belt has never been changed, you're driving on borrowed time. These are scheduled for something around 60K-65K!

Wink

It,s fixed now. It turned out to be a inner crank key for the timng belt lower gear slipped because during the last timing belt job done maby the crank was not torqued properly. This year , 94 has 2 small keys instead ot the long one. It did damage the crank a little. We tig welded the bad spot in the crank, grounded it smooth with a diamond rotart and file , we finished the repair. Then we put in a new lower crank seal and a standard t belt job. Thank,s for al the help Pat
