Which Intake?

Im trying to choose between the k&n intake and the frankencar intake. the frankencar claims to give between 13-15 hp with the apxi filter and 8-12hp with the k&n filter (they offer both). the k&n intake was dyno tested to get 14 at the wheels. i heared the frankencar was a tight fit and there isent enough suppport so you have to use zip ties to help support it. but the k&n is known for quality. the k&n is a about $20 more. what do you guys think?

THANKS

Dont know about the frankencar intake... but if the the K&N is 20 bucks more, just go for that, its been proven, and makes a little more sense, since the kit comes with the support it needs, not janky zip ties.....thats just me. Make it your moneys worth right?

The top picture is my Pathfinder. I chose The Frankencar as these guys make proven performance parts for Nissan. I chose the Apexi filter for several reasons. There is no oil in the filter to wash out and refill. There have been issues with oil from K&N type filters getting on sensors and causing problems.

I used the zip ties for added support, probably don't really need them, I'm just anal. So far I'm pleased with the intake. I'm getting 16.5 mpg around town and I've got a bit of a lead foot.

Wonder if any measurements/comparisons have been done between K&N and Apexi for filter effectiveness. My guess is the K&N does a little better because of the oil, which isn't really a problem btw if you follow directions. Worse is waiting for the cleaner to soak, waiting for the filter to dry and waiting for the oil to soak 2, maybe 3 times. I'm thinking of getting a second K&N so I can clean one while the other is installed.

There doesn't seem to be any complaints from either so I suppose both work well enough.

I bought the Air Lifts 4 years ago online don't recall where, there are several places which sell them. Installing the bags requires getting them inside your coil springs. I dropped the rear axle to do it. I made a bracket out of a piece of aluminum to hold the air valve next to my trailer light plug. When I tow, I pump the bags to 15 pounds of air and it raises the rear end a few inches, back to the normal ride height.

Here is a good price:

The transmission cooler came from Advanced Auto, most parts places have them. I think if I did the cooler again I might go up a size.

thanks alot. lol i envy u cuz ur pathfinder dosent have a spot of rust on it. i live in michigan-it snows here and they put salt on the road so my truck is rusted underneath, i think its just surface rust though. my exhaust is screwed up badly (from rust), so i wana replace it but stock parts for a catback cost about 700$ and i dont have that kind of cash. im trying to find a shop that does good custom work.

i did some research about that dynomax you put on, i found that the muffler is backwords. can you do that with a muffler without causing problems?
