Increase in mpg does not equate a leaner running engine. Leaner in regards to combustion engines means less fuel in the fuel/air mixture. In the day of the carburetor, you could adjust the fuel mixture. I don't believe you could force a modern fuel injected engine to run lean without messing with the computer.

You stated earlier, you are from the land of logic and reason.
You have provided no logic, facts which reach a definitive conclusion.
You have stated no reason, other than your opinion.
You don't know what lean means in automotive terms.

Anything else to contribute?

"Can't we all just get along?" -Rodney King

(Sorry, I just couldn't resist. It just seemed appropriate at this point.)

OK. I know you are just messin' with us now.

i opted to get it only to have a slightly more throaty sound upon acceleration thats it.
You waisted your money just to have a more throaty sound? I was almost certain you were going to say you saved a tree.

BTW, increase in mpg is not necessarily a lean mixture, but more efficient. You can be blowing a lean mix out the exhaust and not improve mileage or performance. On the other hand, an engine that is efficient wouldn't need a catalytic converter (used to burn hydrocarbons) to pass tailpipe emissions test - trust me, it's been done.

*wasted not waisted. and i didnt waste my money because i needed to replace the old one and it accomplished my objective of having a lil more sound under the hood. for extra 10.00 yes it was worth it... but to spend 200.00+ on all that crap lol...

but any intake modifications you make your ecu will promptly adjust.

Mi apalgeez fer da mizpellin. BTW, *I didn't not i didnt.

The ECU adjusts to the amount of air by increasing and decreasing fuel in an attempt to reach an optimum mixture (for the condition), it does not control the air intake. Besides, one man's crap is another man's neat sh*t. Do you know how much pin striping costs? And it doesn't do squat for the performance.
