I pickup my 2001 Pathfinder LE on Monday (can't wait) ... I need to get a new key FOB for it though. I've found some online that are a bit cheaper than the dealership. However, I'm not sure when the Pathfinder was built (there was one site that differentiated the difference between the 2001 as being built before Aug 01 or after).

Courtesy Parts has the vin breakdown, but it won't tell you anymore than you already know. The month and year of manufacture should be on the door plate, I believe.

Your production date is 12/2000. Part number of the remote you need is 28268-2W602. I believe their might be an alternate part number also. Dealership price will probably be around 127.00.

Thank you for the information! Were you able to figure it out using the VIN? I tried to find websites on deciphering it ... but to no avail.
