'01 Pathfinder Vibration at 1500RPM - shaking running boards?

Hi,

I get a rattling/vibration when I accelerate through 1500RPM on my '01 Pathfinder SE. It only happens when I'm moving. It sometimes seem to come from the left and sometimes more from the right. If I kick my running boards, I hear a similar but not necessarily the same vibration from the thin black metal on the inside of the tubular running 'boards'. Has anyone else experience this? Any ideas on how to 'fix' it'?

Thanks!
Mike

I have an 01 SE, but don't have this problem (yet). Sounds like something is loose. Try crawling under and shaking things around. Maybe your muffler popped loose or something.

most likely it is the baffles in the pipe after the cats, I have seen this happen many times.

Hi, Mike , I wound up putting large hose clamps around the heat shields around the exhaust pipes both sides-found out that many of my clamps had rotted and fallen off ...grumbling non existant now
