alarm

my (o5 pathy le) alarm will not armed even if i close all the doors. i think according to the manual if all the doors are closed it will be armed with in one minute. i waited for 5 minutes and the lock is still off and i opened the door and i wont activate the alarm. usually it will close all the locks or if not it will activate the alarm when you open the door if the doors not lock. do i need to upgrade with this features. because my civic has a stock alarm but with that features. and also i think there are no shock sensor for glass breakage etc for this stock alarm. if it will cost me with almost the price of viper alarm i may just got an aftermarket.

It isn't supposed to arm itself - you have to press the top button on the remote that came with the vehicle or lock the driver's door with the key to arm it.

I doubt they have an upgrade that would do that. IMHO, it would be a really bad idea. What if you take the keys out of the ignition, put them down on the console or seat and shut all the doors? Do you really want the alarm to arm itself and lock the doors for you? The aftermarket alarm in the 1995 Mitsubishi Montero I owned did this (even with the keys in the ignition, in fact) and locked me out once with the engine running (I didn't realize it would actually lock the doors with the key in the ignition). I was not exactly happy - it was late at night, snowing heavily, and I was in downtown Boston. Took a looooong time to get someone to come and get me back in. It's not that difficult to simply push the arm button on the remote...

my honda civic will arm automatically when all the are doors close but it will not lock the door it will just arm itself so when you open the door it will activate the alarm.

There is a setting on the LE with Navigation for how long until Auto Lock occurs.
