just wondering... at 4x4 part.com they have Rancho RS9000x shocks for a 96-99 pathy with a 2" lift and I'm wondering if they are the same as the ones for a stock ride or are they actually 2" taller? they have different part numbers at 4x4 parts but i'm windering if anybody can confirm for sure?

They should be longer. I think the stock shocks will still work, just don't go off roading or you'll break a shock or 2.
how about the front struts? by the looks at 4x4parts their is no option for a taller strut... only the rear shocks for a 2" lift.
That sounds funny to me. When a suspension lift is done, longer struts should be available for IFS. I looked at the site, the packages do come with new shocks and struts. I also find it funny that they do not sell longer struts separately, although I didn't thoroughly go through the site.
Best bet, email them if you seriously are going to buy them from 4x4parts. They should give you an immediate answer by the next working day. They don't seem to have a 1-800 # to call.
that's just it... I'm not getting them from 4x4parts so I don't want to harrass them. I just want a bit of a heads up in advance so when I call my supplier I know what parts I'm looking for..
although so far it looks like I may have to get the springs from 4x4parts...
You cannot get taller struts for the front. The entire lift for the front comes from longer springs. This means you will lose about 2" of down travel from the front when you lift a 96+ Pathfinder.
