Waiting on new Pathy

Gar! My dealer hasn't been able to locate the Pathy I want, and it looks like we're going to have to order one. FYI, I want a LE with storm grey exterior, graphite leather, and nav.

Has anyone had any experience with ordering one, and how long it actually takes?? He said it could take up to 8 weeks, and I've already been waiting 3-4 or so.

I already have my PAC-NIS for my iPod....

I think 8 weeks is very optomistic in getting a ordered vehicle. My inlaws ordered a minivan and they were told 8 weeks and it took a few weeks more than that. I would say about 3 months, you could expect your new Pathy. Good luck.

I have a Storm Grey Offroad SE on order in MA (I wanted side airbags and they don't come that was std it seems)

My order went in on April 8th I believe and I have an order number too. I was told it would be built in May and to expect at end of May.

I ended up paying invoice with a few bucks over wholesale for my trade. What sort of pricing did you get and where are you.

I have 6 dealers inside of 15 miles so if I find what I want in inventory before mine shows up I'll just go elsewhere.

do you have multiple dealerships in your area, or within reasonable distance? you can check them out and see if they have them. When my dad bought his, we knew another dealership had the 05 white pathfinder LE 4x4 and the dealership we bought it from ended up getting it from there. so just look at other dealerships and maybe you can find one. Sometimes it doesn't show up when they search places to find them.

your dealer can get from another dealer if you will order a color that they don't have you can't get discount that's my dealer told me. usually a car will stay there i think 60 or 90 days only if it is nearly that number of days they will push that car to be sold(means you can lower the price even more) because they got another trucks of deliveries coming.

Do search at NissanUSA.com

If you go to NissanUSA.com, you can enter your desired option and do a search of dealer inventory in your area.

I did this when I got my '05 to "help" my dealer with his search and to know when he was feeding me a line of bull about tbe car being on another of their lots.

Good luck!

Dave

Just a note: If they do a swap with another dealer it wll not show properly on nissanusa. I'm not doubting you that they were lying though. I have met only one truly honest dealer in my days.. sad really.

Factory nav or Garmin??

Yes, yes... I have been getting very jealous as I wait... I've checked Nissans website to search all over the state and a few ajoining states, but nothing has come up.

However there is a model available without the nav, and I've been thinking that getting a Garmin GPS might be a better option anyway. I like that the factory GPS units have a really big screen, but the Garmin units are a lot more flexible, with the computer hookup, portability, and such.

Any GPS fans around here who have an opinion?

Thanks!

the factory navigation and dvd is expensive compare to aftermarket. i'm considering the following items...

dvd
i don't like in dash i maybe tempted to use it while driving.

http://www.autobarn.net/quantummonitor.html

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099396976507

navigation

i think these looks better than garmin, it has battery and bigger hard drive capability.

http://www.autobarn.net/tomtomgoplus.html

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1108124690100

the above navigation has a pentium processor(higher speed to compare to others)

back up sensor

i'll use front and back

http://www.autobarn.net/wibasebyde.html

back up camera

http://www.autobarn.net/universalhindsight.html

all catch mats

other 05 pathy accessories

I have a friend who works for Garmin and he is letting me try out all their nav systems for free before I buy them. I currently have the Street Pilot 2650 and I think that might be the one I decide to go with. We were looking at the N1 or D1 made by Pioneer but, I wasn't digging the in dash ones.

I am using a Garmin 2610. Works OK. However, there are a lot of newer smaler units hitting the market right now. About 2/3 the size of the 2610 with updated nav info and more points of interest and 3d views

Look for the c320 and c330 for garmin units

I'm borrowing the c330 next from my friend. He doesn't think I will like it as well as I like the 2650. Who knows until I try it. I should get it next week.

I decided to go with a 3rd party nav, so I picked up my new Pathy today!! It's so much nicer than my 97 Tahoe....

Anyway, I'm going to go check out the Garmin units, most likely the 330 or one of the 26x0 models. I might take a look at the GPSMAP 60CS - being able to use it as a handheld might be handy. I'll be sure to check out the Tomtom too.

Thanks for the help, everyone!!
