92 pathfinder tranny help?

well my dad has had his pathfinder sitting in the garage for over a year now so i decided i might give it a look over and try and get it fixed finally. first off, im almost possitive it needs a new tranny, now my wuestion is, does anyone know how much it generally costs to have one put in? possible prices for both the full package (rebuild) and then for just doing to laybor? I ask because i can find a rebuilt tranny for fairly cheap, the problem is doing the instal since i dont have the toold for it so i would need a shop to do it. any help would be great.

Generally it costs between 1100 and 1500 to have a tranny pulled, rebuilt and replaced. After that, there's no guarantee it'll work right, either...most tranny shops don't know enough about Nissan autos to do the job right.
