Just wondering, after a few mins of driving/off roading the 4 wheel drive lever gets really warm, so warm the vapors scortch your leg if your wearing shorts. During the summer its really bothersome, what do you guys think it might be? the vapors seem to be coming from underneath the leather boot on the shifter. (By the way this an automatic tranny)

Your rubber boot underneath the leather cover is ripped or missing. Replace that and you should be good to go.
