never change transmission fluid??

My pathfinder has 120,000 miles on it and i am planning to change the transmission fluid. I bought it 3 years ago with 78,000 on it and have not changed the fluid since i bought it. I have had 2 people tell me not to change the transmission fluid ever, but to just put some Lucas additive in it and leave it unless the transmission has problems. They claim that the transmission gets used to operating with the fluid in it and changing it could cause it to act up. Any wisdom would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have an 02 that I've had since day one. I didn't do anything with the transmission fluid for 110,000 miles. At that time my mechanic said I should take it to the dealer for a drain and fill but not a flush and fill. He said since it had been so long, a flush might dislodge important parts. The guy at the dealership agreed and so they did the drain and fill. I just turned over 161K and the transmission seems as good as new.
