Have an '01 Pathfinder (my third) and started sometimes getting a weird noise when I turn on the AC. It gets louder as I accelerate. It's not super loud, just audible enough to be annoying.

It sounds kind of like a refrigerator rattle. Only does it sometimes. Anyone had a similar experience?

Could be air in the line..... are there any leaky connections in the system?

can't hurt to get it checked.....

No leaks that I can see.

It's odd, but I can't hear the noise at all from the engine when the hood is open. I can only hear it in the cab. It sounds almost like it's coming from behind the glove box or center of the dash.

The evaporator is usually behind the glove box where you could potentially have air trapped (it looks like a little radiator)....

Your system should be R134..it is usually fairly cheap to get it topped off at any gas station with a service bay....they will evacuate any air while they fill it up with freon...
