'99 Air wont turn off.

I have 1999 pathfinder, and the air wont turn off. I can change what ducts the air comes through, like bottom, top, and defroster. I can change the temperature. However, I cant change how hard its blowing OR more importantly turn it off or on.

Im not that mechanically inclined so any detailed instructions on what I can check would be greatly appreciated. Im really really hoping its a simple fix, but then again who wouldnt?

Thanks!

I actually just joined the Nissanforum to search this exact same issue in my 02 Pathfinder. The air is stuck on will not budge regardless of changing the settings.

Any advice will kill two problems with one post.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
Just taking a wild shot here, but could it be the knob on the dash is shot?

I thought I would pass this info along to see if it helps at all. It appears from other forums that it may be the "fan control amp". Not sure if that is going to cure my vehicle or not, but I will try it within the next couple of weeks and post back.

Ok - here we go. The air conditioning was stuck on high and would not budge, so I purchased the A.C. amplifier from Courtesy Nissan - Courtesyparts.com - Genuine Nissan Parts, Accessories, NISMO and Nissan Motorsports - The part number is 27761-70T03 (Module Assembly). It was ridiculously easy to fix (maybe 15 minutes) and I saved a ton of dough. I have included a link to a page that will show the part, the view with the glove box off & an upclose view of the part as it sits in the vehicle.

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...uxZOMA&notag=1

Instructions:

Step 1: Open the glove box and unscuse a common screwdriver to unscrew the 8 screws (including 2 for the trim piece for the dash)

Step 2: There are two plastic pins, one on each side on the bottom of the glove box. They have a part that sticks out and should be easy to find. Just push them towards each other, one at a time. Once out, the glove box will come out.

Step 3: Unscrew the two phillips screws that hold the trim piece on and then gently work it free by pulling it up and out.

Step 4: Remove the other phillips screws around the panel and the plastic panel should come out. Watch for a wire that goes to the glove box light, it needs to be disconnected with a simple turn before the panel is completely free.

Step 5: Insert the common screwdriver into the left side of the wiring harness that goes into the amplifier and gently pry it and pull it out. (The fan control amp. is white plastic, about 2 1/2" tall, with a phillips screw on the top and bottom with a wiring harness that goes into it).

Step 6: Unscrew the two phillips screws from the fan control amp. and it should come right out.

Good luck
