'01 Pathy - wount shift to highest gear till real warm? Issue?

My '01 pathy will not shift into top gear untill it has been run for about 10-15 mins and has had time to warm up. Is this normal?
Could it be that the previous owner did not use the right weight transmission oil?

It gets very annoying since you have to drive <60 mph while on the highway on the way to work. I don't beat on my vehicles and i want to make sure i don't damage anything. Plus i just hate having the engine at higher rpm when its not at full op temp.

The truck has done this ever sinced i owned it at 87k miles. Is it normal?

I would say this is normal until the transmission fluid gets to operating temp.

I have an '01 LE 4x4 and it doesnt shift into OD for about 5 or 6 miles, even if the engine is up to operating temp.

Thats just my thought, do you know when the trans. was serviced last?

The transmission was serviced when i bought the pathy,,,about 10k miles ago. They told me the fluids where flushed...i believed them since the fluid looks fresh.

If you have any transmission problems, especially if temperature seems to be a factor, replace the transmission temp sensor.
