Question Rear Sway Bar Link

Hi Pathy People,

I have noticed a clank under my 1993 Pathy and when I looked and had my girl friend rock it from side to side I followed the sound until I found the problem. It is where the Sway bar connects to the stabalizer link. Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a bushing in the sway bar at this location. It is really loose and moves around. I do believe I can put a bushing in it and also tighten up the bolt where it connects to the bar. It is really loose and is very sloppy. I am wondering if there is supposed to be a bushing in it or if it is just that wore out. This is where the bar connects to the link then to the body not where the bar hooks to the rearend.

Thank You for any information in advance.

The next thing is I have a clicking sound coming from the front driver side when going down the road. It seems to be constant and dose not go faster with the speed of the pathy. I first thought it was something it the brakes, but have discounted that Idea.

Thank You and GOD BLESS!!!
John

I think the lower end of the swaybar link just has a ball-joint in it with a rubber boot covering it. No bushings. No idea on the clicking noise. Does it change with engine RPM?

The clicking noise is not there all the time. It does not seem to increase with rpm. It does increase with speed, sometimes, but like I said it is not there all the time. I have found new rear sway bar links on Ebay really reasonable. I still do not know if there is a bushing in the end of the sway bar though.

I have seen on other websites that people have paid as much as $600-800 to have the links changed. That is really bad since I can buy a set of 2 for $41. and that's shipped to my door and there is nothing to putting them in.

Thank You and GOD BLESS!!!
