Setting the Compass

High guys,
Any idea on where to find my zone in the digital compass on my 98SE?
I have the user manual but it only shows the map and zones of Northern America.
Anyone can help me find the zones for Asia and Middle-East?
Thanks.

Give the directions below a try. They are straight out of the Service Manual (which also only has correction settings for North America). Hope this helps.

CORRECTION FUNCTIONS OF COMPASS
NAEL0155S01
The direction display is equipped with automatic correction function.
If the direction is not shown correctly, carry out initial correction.
INITIAL CORRECTION PROCEDURE FOR COMPASS
NAEL0155S02
1. Pushing the “Mode” switch for about 10 seconds will enter the
initial correction mode. The direction bar starts blinking.
2. Turn the vehicle slowly in an open, safe place. The initial correction
is completed in one or two turns.
NOTE:
In places where the terrestrial magnetism is extremely disturbed,
the initial correction may start automatically.

I think you are supposed to start with the truck facing north when doing the procedure in the northern hemisphere.

Thanks for the reply guys, but this is the correction procedure, before doing that I have to enter the geographical zone where I am.
By pressing on the button for 5 seconds the zone starts to blink and I can enter it, the only problem is that I don't know what my country's zone is. In the service manual they only list N.America's zones :S

I'm assuming the compass settings relate to magnetic declination. The map in the manual looks a lot like degrees of declination, after all.

According to the NDGC site, the magnetic declination of Lebanon is around +4 degrees. Manitoba (Canada) and Texas (US) share a similar declination.

In Nissan's map, the compass setting for those two places is zone 6. So, if the settings *do* relate to declination, Lebanon should be set to zone 6 as well.

I'm really grateful you took the time to help me.
I'm in Lebanon the country in the Middle East, not the Region in USA (just checking).
So I will set it to zone 6, right?
Thanks a lot.

hehe! lol!
Anyways, I set the zone to 6 ad it doesn't seem right to me. So I think it's not related to inclination
How can we know for sure which is the right zone?
Thanks again.

The manual says nothing about that, it just says to make 1-2 turns in an empty parking lot.
