4x4 different from 2x4??

Does anyone know if the wheel set up is different between the 2x4 and 4x4s? I am trying to buy rims online for my 2008 nissan pathy S model 4x4 and Ive found plenty that say they will fit but ive notice on my front tires that there is minmal clearance between my brakes and factory rims that are on there now...any sort of specifics I need to know??

any help would be greatly appreciated..

I am not aware of any difference. My understanding is, All LE V8's (whether 2x4 or 4x4) have 18 in rims (same model/style). SE V8's have 17 in rims. The SE Offroad has 16 in wheels that differ from the SE V6 and S models, but those too are 16 in rims.
I have only heard of clearance problems with brakes/rotors when people go to a smaller diameter rim, or if they put aftermarket brakes/rotors on that require a min. rim size......
If you're putting aftermarket 16 in or greater rim, you shouldn't have any problem.....

great thats what I wanted to hear...I plan on putting 22s or 24s on there...its just with the 16s on there now and how close they are in the middle, to the bolt holes, its very very small clearance..and it looks like rims would have to be specifically designed to clear the brakes...but I think ill be okay..thanks alot!
