E-brake on 02 pathfinder loose

What's going on. My boys father has an 02 pathfinder and her says his ebrake is loose. The ebrake still works and will engage fine but over time is has loosen some. Is there anyway to tighten it back for him? I thought it was the pedal brake but it is a had brake just like my 96 accord.
