How to remove rear license lamp finisher?

I have a 2002 Pathfinder Chilkool edition. The area around the rear license lamp finisher starts rusting. I need to remove the finisher before I can fix it. I download the FSM but the picture of showing the removal is too brief. It only show one clip which I don't have a clue how it work.

Anyone has this experience please help.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

It could be like the 05+ Pathfinders where you have to remove the back panel of the rear door. It probably has clips you need to pick with pliers or plastic screws to turn with a screwdriver.

The license plate lights are accessed from behind with gate open. Remove handle, and carefully lift away rear plastic panel (sometimes will need a large flathead to pop nylon retainers loose, carefully not to break them) Access is still tight, but youll see the mounting.

DO THEM BOTH AT THE SAME TIME
