Hey guys, so my waterpump on my 97 pathy is leaking, so I need to replace that soon. While i'm doing that i'm planning on doing the timing belt ( 160k miles on current one!!), serpentine belts, anything else I should be doing while i'm in there and have everything apart? Also, any write-ups/ tips on this repair would be great!!! I'm a newb to the pathy world.
I think you have the important stuff covered. Whenever you do the water pump you do the timing belt usually. Of course the gasket kit will fix any other minor front engine leaks. If you wanted to go all out, you could do the valve seals and head gasket, but that's doing the over the top maintenance.

I would recommend a new tensioner; a timing belt componant kit from Gates will have the timing belt and tensioner. I would replace the front engine seal(2-cam and 1-crank). I would highly recommend using genuine Nissan drive belts as they tend to fit better than aftermarket. Bando is the best choice on the aftermarket for fit, but can be hard to find. A genuine Nissan thermostat wouldn't be a bad idea while you have the coolant drained and you're in the area.
