I have a 87 Nissan Pathfinder V-6
It was driven up till the exhaust went and I parked it 3 yrs ago...
I really want to get this thing back to life but I cannot get it to start now. Here is what I have done so far.
- Drained the old bad gas out really really yellow stuff
- Drained the lines
- Found the new Gas I added smelled more like bad gas the fresh stuff redrained it again.
- re drained the lines
- I cleaned the plugs they still look new as I put then in just before I put it away...
- The Fuel pump is working-----
- Truck fires up when gas is added through the throttle body---but wont run on its own.
- Took the carb/throttle body off cleaned it still nothing
- Added a bit of oil to the cylinders
Anyone having any suggestions feel free to help me out.... This Pathfinder was good to me so I would really like it back =)
Thanks
Fuel filter may be clogged. Sounds like you have no fuel.

No I have gas flowing through the filter ...
I disconnected the fuel lines just before the throttle body and ran the pump to flush the lines.
So I know the fuel pump works, the bad gas is flushed and the filter is allowing the gas to flow.....
What im thinking is the Fuel injector clogged? (little things are expensive) Ill try cleaning it =)
as It does start and run for 3-4 seconds when gas is poured into throttle body.
I appreciate the help...
I love this Pathfinder we had alot of fun times and it has never let me down and id rather spend the money restoring this one then buy a newer one =).....
You can try ohming out the injectors to see if they match...IIRC you just need to unplug them and then use a voltmeter set to Ohms to check them, should be a low value, like 2-5 ohms, I forget. If one is way off, you may have a stuck or bad injector.
