Blinkers not working?

Hey guys, the blinkers on the 97 pathfinder i just picked up seem to work on and off. Any idea what could be causing this?

Wanted to add, they now are completely not working. I took out the fuse and its not blown but badly oxidized, I cleaned it up a bit and put it back in, the blinker turned on for a sec, but then stopped working again. Think the fuse is the culprit? Or is there an issue with the fuse box itself...

do the hazards work? if so, may be directional switch...if not, may be flasher unit (more common/easy fix)

Hey, Hazards dont work. I replaced the fuse and that didn't help at all. Whenever the car is off for a little while, when i turn it on the blinkers will work for like a second, but then they stop working completely. Think this is that flasher unit your talking about? Any info on where to get it/ how to change it? Thanks alot for the input, I really appreciate it.

Also figured id add that the green arrow doesnt come on or anythigh like that, when I put on either directional absolutely nothing happens. Idk if that makes a difference. After reading a bit it sounds like no blinkers or hazards = bad combination flasher unit? Where exactly is this, how do I go about replacing it/getting a new one?

its down near the fuse box

small metal cylindrical plug in unit..cheap and easy to pop in once located..just go into any parts store and ask them for a replacement for the year and youll get an idea of what it looks like upon purchase.

So I went to my local autozone and they gace me a flasher unit. It looks like one of the three larger things in the fuse box... If this is the right part, which one of those 3 is the flasher? Its basically a little black box with 3 prongs sticking out of it, i thought the combination flasher had a wire going to it... Was I given the wrong part?

Edit: this is what i was given when i asked for the combination flasher unit, i think they gave me a relay. Could this still fix the problem? http://69.0.158.19/live/W01331637885WEH.JPG
