Just purchased a 1999 Pathfinder SE with 99K on the dial and all the goodies for $7500. The car seems to have been well maintained and has a clean carfax report. Was this a decent deal or did I get screwed?
Thanks

Reason: Adding pics
Well it looks like a nice truck. It obviously had floormats before since there are no worn spots around the pedals. I would just check for leaking fluids and see if you can get a service history on it. If you go to a Nissan dealer with the VIN, they should be able to tell pull it up. See if the timing belt was changed. That's a high dollar item that should have been done. Otherwise Good Luck.

check thouroughly around wheel wells for ANY rust..will turn into a nightmare and one shopping carriage bump on the wheel flare will set it off (underside)
Just went through a similar issue with mine
Outside of the usual exhaust manifold ticking on these..if you dont have it, you will..haha
Floormats are being ordered this week, and maintanence records are not available from where I bought the truck, so I'll have to hit up Nissan for that if possible. As far as the timing belt, I'll have to have my mechanic look at that. I usually like to do my own maintanence work (oil, brakes, etc), but had a bad experience with a timing belt and lost an engine because of that...last time I try that.
I'll check for rust spots as I know this truck lived up in NJ for about 4 years of it's life, so this could be possible. Just to be clear though, I am checking on the inside of the wheel wells, correct? What's a good way to tackle that if I find any rust?
Though currently non existant, when it does happen the exhaust tick would not bother me, but my wife will go nuts. Any cure or something I can do to avoid this in the future? Or basically new gaskets?
Thanks for the comps guys, much appreciated. I usually join a forum dedicated to whatever car I buy, best resource I think. So to get positive feedback from you guys means a lot.
Nice find and I love the wood accent. I'm considering order a brushed aluminum(sp) for mine. I've had my 98 for 5 months and I'm leaking oil from around the crank case/oil pan area. It appears to be the crank case seal, so take a look at that. Crawl under and remove the platice shield, see if any drip are inside the plastice shield/cover once you remove it. I'm getting my timing belt, pump, etc... done this weekend and the leaky seal(s) will be addresses at the same time.
I noticed you have 4wd righteous! Did you test it by engaging the 4wd and turning the wheel all the way left or right. You wanna feel some resistance when turning and applying the gas.

good deal. I hope all is well and that price seems fair. You should be able to look at your belt to see if its time. Take a look at my pic at the belt in the left corner. You can see dry cracks. Lucky for me I'm the second owner of mine and I have al the records where it was last serviced, so I know for sire that the belts havent been changed
I have one that had one of those exact bug shield/wind thingies..make sure it isn't making contact with the hood at all..mine was and removed. Was painted when had in for wheelwheel rust repair.
I'm up in Chicago right now and will be home in Florida for the weekend, so I'll check the bug shield when I get there. I appreciate all your advise guys, I truly do. Pretty cool forum so far, don't mind if I stick around for a while. :-)
I agree with the rest, looks like you got a steal, just do what everyone else has said, especially with the timing belt...im digging that wood grain, that looks really nice, im trying to find a kit that matches the wood on mine to cover some of those vents and all
