96 pathfinder stereo install

Hey.... new to the site

Just tried to hook up a new headunit in a 96 pathfinder (without the bose system)...Later found out that even though it doesnt have a bose premium sound system...it still has a factory amplifier. Anybody know what to do with this thing? I have hooked up aftermarket CD players using factory amps without problems many times before (just supply it a turn on signal and ground)...but on this one it sounds like crap and I only get sound out of the drivers side speakers. Where is the amp located? Anybody have a wiring diagram to bypass it or know the wiring offhand? Do they sell an amp bypass connector?

thanks in advance

.....Id rather have no stereo than try and fish new wires into the doors for the speakers....I did that in my old car....never do that again! I had the entire dash ripped apart!

Why not just power up the amp? Do a search. I've seen several threads on this forum telling how.

I did originally hook up the amp....giving it power to run with my new CD deck...but it sounded pretty bad....And for some reason i only had sound out of the left side speakers. Not to mention the insane amount of static and interference coming through from switching CD tracks etc.....I pulled the amp out, and it would be an easy wiring job if i had a diagram telling what the wires do. Just a matter of jumping them over. Anybody have this kind of info?

Hi, The amp is located in the rear cargo area(drivers side), Its mounted behind some connectors! I am going to install new front and rear door speakers in my 96' pathy this weekend and i hope thats all i need. I just need a wire diagram because the factory speakers have a plug at the end and i need to know which is pos/neg.
