The "speaker grille" is actually part of the door panel, so you need to remove the door panel to access the speaker. I'd have to see the door panel to tell you exactly how to remove it. Usually, if it has P/Windows, the main switch pops out. If there's a door lock rod, that'll screw off. If there's an escutcheon around the interior door handle, that'll pop off. Check for any blind plug caps hiding screws that may need to be removed. I know on some you would remove a screw from the top side of the arm rest and the arm rest would slide off to expose 3 screws, but I'm not certain if 97 is that way. After the screws are out, use a panel tool to pull up the door panel at the "Christmas tree clips" around the perimeter of the door panel and push the panel upward to disengage from the door.
