You need to determine if it's the regulator or the switch. Do you get the same results using the passenger door switch as you do with the driver's main switch? When you press the switch "up," do you hear any noise from the motor?

Thanks for the reply.
Well the passenger side always goes up but it takes couple of try for it to get down. The driver back side is very slow up and down and the driver window is perfect.
Any advice?

Thanks,
Rahul

I'd spray some WD-40 down into the switches and jiggle them while you're spraying - this will get into the contacts and clean them. This technique solved a similar problem I had for awhile, and I finally had to change the switch.

You can also pull the switch from the passenger front, which sounds like the best one, and put in on the rear, and see if that changes anything.

I don't know which year you have, but on my '98, you pull up gently on the plastic trim that covers the armrest, and it will pop out. Then the switch snaps loose from the trim. Installation is the reverse.

Thanks much....will try this in a bit and repost back. I have a 99 pathfinder.
I have wood trim but hopefully it should be easy to pry out.

You have the same as mine - look up the factory service manual in the search function of this board, and you can get the photo of where the snaps are so you can pry it out thoughtfully. As I recall, I used my fingers, no tools.

Took the trim and the unit of the automatic window out as per the service manual....sprayed WD40 few times jiggled etc and no luck....waited few minutes tried again and nothing.....I can't open the individual switch as it seems it might break it....but will try again in few minutes to see what happens.....

Thumbs up

It worked!

So i pried the switch sprayed some more WD40 waited....retried and nothing was working....I had given up and was parking my car then tried one last time and the window started going up....well it's not perfect as in as I have to give lot of tries sometimes over 20 to 30 tries before it does start going up but eventually it does. I still won't operate that window so the next project is it pry that switch out of the socket completely...

thanks coolnesss!!!

As I recall, you have to pull back some plastic prong-like things to get the individual switch out of the socket. Take a very close look. Once you see where you have to pry, its easy. I had a similar thing - where it worked like you said - and just replaced the switch. They're not expensive. I got mine via internet order from Bruce Titus Nissan in Washington. The prices are excellent, and the lady that takes care of the internet stuff is great.
