4-Wheel Drive

A friend said I should periodically use the 4-wheel drive mode on my '06 PF (even when I don't need to) in order to keep the seals lubricated. Is this true? Thanks

Not just the seals, but all of the internal parts. A short trip around the block is plenty to get everything lubricated. The same idea is used when people say that the air conditioning system should be used every now and then when it's not in regular use.
