compustar on 99.5 pathfinder

Hi,

i've been looking for more information on compustar 2 way remote starter/alarm units. i understand that there is something special with the nissan key, some sort of chip that must be present inorder for the car to start.

I know that by passes are made for these type of situation but i am unsure if they make one for the 99.5 pathfinder se? would anyone be able to help me get this problem solved.

There were a few solutions that my friend provided but none of them would provide a clean install.

1. keeping a key in the car under the console connected to the ignition or something along those lines.

2. taking the chip out of the key which would make my key useless, i would always have to start using the compustar.

i guess my question is, do they make some sort of bypass for the anti-theft?

The "bypass" is a box that the installer puts in one of your programmed keys so the anti-theft system will receive a valid key signal when using the remote starter. These systems are turning out to be a problem because thiefs trying to steal these vehicles have access to a working key by breaking into the "bypass" module. IMO, you are best off avoiding aftermarket systems and sticking with the Nissan factory anti-theft system and remotes. It'll save you a lot of headache down the road.

the reason i wanted to do this was, winter is coming up and having leather seats tends to get very cold. wanted to start the car with the heated seats.

i guess i can try to find another way, does nissan make factory starters?
