i know a similar threads was posted before about a year ago but was hoping to get a little clarification. according to the crap i've read on ebay, there are two remotes for 2001 pathfinders that are identical but not compatible. I have a 2001 with no remotes but i did the keyless test and the build date is 02/2000.

so do i need the model/01a or the model a? i read the cutoff is 08/2000.

the item i'm looking at (b/c it's the cheapest w/ the best seller ratings is this:

Up to 8/2000 production uses Nissan P/N: 28268-2W601.
Production dates 8/2000 and up use Nissan P/N: 28268-2W602.

So, if you check your production date listed on the driver's door jamp sticker (usually) and you see a 2/2000 pro date, you would need P/N: 28268-2W601 or aftermarket compatable remote. If I'm not mistaken, that was a model "A" transmitter.
