1994 Pathfinder XE-V6 4X4

I just purchased this one. There is black fluid leaking down new the oil drain pan and the cross member. My trani, brake and oil levels are all good. Could this be a seal or differential fluid? Help does someone know,

Most likely causes:

1) Somebody recently replaced the oil filter and you're see the oil that spilled out of the filter.
2) Rear main seal is leaking OR the bracket the holds the rear mean seal is leaking oil though the gasket or sealant.

The front diff. pinion seals sometimes leak, but you probably wouldn't see it on the oil pan. Best thing to do is give the area a good cleaning, maybe put some dye in the oil, and keep an eye on it.
