Panhard Rod Adjustment???

Ive searched this site too many times to count never mind the hours on google. So if my question is duplicated sorry. I have just never found any definate answer that satisfies me.

I have my 01 Path 2WD on bags. Im having a real problem with the panhard bar when I lower the truck down it throws the rear axle to the left a good amount then when I raise it the rear links arent aligned right and makes a sound. Not a crazy sound but it cant be good for the bushings. When its up its fine, rides nice no problems with wobble or drifting.

I need to be able to adjust that somehow at ride height(which is still 2-3 inches below factory level) so that when I dump it the rear axle wont go that far out of whack.

Im figuring it might be a custom job.

Do I need a adjustable one or can I use some other Pathfinders panhard(though I would tend to think they are all the same but you never know.)

Please someone give me direction now that I think about it I might have even posted this question months ago.

Thanks guys.

Anyway.......

If it has leaf springs you should be able to get by without a track bar.

If it has coils I don't know of any solution for it. If it was constantly lowered or constantly lifted you could get an adjustable or a custom track bar made.

Your best bet is to talk to someone in the performance suspension field. Some 4WD guys are using air bags to get some serious lift, but I'm 99.9% sure they're all leaf springs so the track bar isn't an issue.

Throwing the geometry of the rear end out of whack can also effect you pinion angle/U-joints. This can also cause some unpleasant "noise".

Don't drive it lowered until you get it fixed........

Good Luck.

It's not intended to be "bagged" in the first place...that might have something to do with it. As far as adjustment of the panhard goes, there's no way to do it. Do you still have a rear sway bar or did you remove it?

You've never found a definitive answer on these forums because, I would venture to assume, there's not alot of other "bagged" Pathys.

Relax. If you've already posted this question months ago like you said, and didn't receive a definitive answer, maybe you should take that question somewhere else then.
