I have a 03' LE and the hatch was rattling so i kept tightening the two bolts but it kept comming loose and when i loosened it slightly last time and moved the bar that the hatch door latches onto it sound like there was gravel etc grinding under it so i decided to remove the latch and clean it out.. I never thought that the peice which the bolts were treaded into would fall down and be unretreivable.. did nissan actually think noone would ever have to adjust that peice? Has anyone delt with this and know how i can get my hatch to close again since it is essential open all the time now????.. haha
The only thing i can think of is getting a powerful and small magnet and reaching through a small hole in front of the area and trying to hold the peice up while screwing the latch bar back on, which will involve removing the bumper!
