2002 Pathfinder

Hello

Anyone have any issues with a 2002 Pathfinder riding rough? It has 77,000 miles on it, took it to a trusted mechanic for years - thought maybe it was shocks or struts, i think it just has struts? Mechanic said no problems, could have easily said there was problems but did not. It just seems to hit dips or small bumps in the road really hard with no "cushion" it's the wifes car so i guarantee she does not drive reckless. I have an '05 Titan and i know they are different vehicles but the comparison between the two as far as comfort just seems way off.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Part of it is just the nature of the truck-- mine rides much rougher than my Saab over the same roads/bumps, etc.

Are you still on the stock struts and shocks? If so, time to replace. It has struts in front, shocks in back. You can also replace the coils, but that won't really soften the ride. Not much will. They type of shocks/struts you use will affect the ride. I've heard the Rancho RSX ride fairly rough. I last used Monroe Reflex and can't tell a difference from stock.

You may need to look at the control arms bushings. Maybe they are wearing out.
