yeah it can, you gotta buy a separate unit though. Plus i already had the garmin which i use at work too so i didnt bother buying the nav for the kenwood.
thats funny, Ive been looking at the exact kenwood for my 08 pathy...where did you get yours from? Crutchfield is out of stock...I found a few on amazon but they are kinda pricey... thanks
i bought mine maybe 4 months ago, Crutchfield is wayy overpriced. I ended up buying it off of Ebay from a Ebay store with great rating. I payed 669+shipping, came to like 740 or so. Way cheaper than most places. I would defenetly recomend it to anyone. screen response is great, easy to install, ipod controls are just amazing. The only cons it has in my opinion its the remote its kinda tricky to use, and the FM reception is not the best but it can be tweeked.
Oh and the DVD Bypass is really simple, just ground the ebrake wire and thats it.
can you give a lil explanation about the install? Such as, taking off the dash panels and what not...maybe explain in steps? Thanks..I used to do that stuff alot back in the day...im sure I can do it no problem..but its been a while lol
m mm it was a while back when i did it but basically some people say to take out the shift molding and all that stuff . I didnt do that, i removed the little tray that sits uptop than removed the whole panel. installed the radio with a wire harness, and two clips that came of a set i had laying around, installed it. The radio came with a plastic trip piece to cover up the edges wihich had to be cut to fit. I used a dremel tool. then just grounded a wire and put it back together. I'm sorry is such a vague "how to" but if i would've known i probably would've taking pictures of me doing it.
i am planning on getting the back up camera and the TV antenas so i might have to pull out the head unit, if so , i will defenetly take pictures and post them.
im not exactly sure what dual din is...but from your pictures my dash set up is identical to yours...crutchfield says it fits but theyve discontinued that model lol...
oh okay thanks...I used to mess with car stereos in my younger days when i was like 15 and 16 lol never the dual dins tho..they werent out back then...or just coming out maybe...I miss doing that stuff tho I tell ya..lol
That was back in the days when you didnt care too much about harnesses lol you would just cut the factory wires and try your best to match all the speaker wires correctly and the remote, hot, and ground wires...then use electrical tape to tape it all up...Its been about 10 years ago and Im not even sure whats hott now but man back then pretty much pioneer decks, aiwa decks and kenwood were the sh**..then the kicker 12' competition speakers with a kicker amp was the nicest sounding bass...I had friends that liked the rockford fosgate speakers but I always thought kicker was the best sounding..
thats cool man, i've done it the old school way too, but those harnesses are worth the money specially if you dont want to mess with your new pathy's warranty. as soon as you cut a wire the warranty is gone.
and believe it or not man, i am running all stock right now haha...i might get all eclipse speakers with a 10 sub, i dont need a lot of bass so a 10 should do it.
lol for sure man...I just meant back in those days..nowadays I would certainly use a harness. I like that you can put down your third seat if you dont need it and put a speaker box there and still have room for goceries in the back...
