Synthetic Oil

Hi I just got a synthetic oil put in my 2003 SE...what do you think I should expect for miles til my next change? I've heard anywhere from 5-12 thousand miles.
Any thoughts?

like most things it's really just a big floating opinion. mine is you'll be good for at least 7k

Every combination of engine, oil, and driving conditions are different, and the only way to know is an oil analysis. Take an oil sample at 6,000 miles and see what the analysis says, then take it from there. Pay special attention to your TBN, Total Base Number, (or just "BN", as they are starting to call it now).

I'm running 6,000 mile OCI's on Mobil 1 - my analysis shows that I could push it further, but with only two oil changes a year I'm happy.

i change at 7K with mobil-1

If you're still under a warrenty you'll need to follow their specifications for oil change frequency no matter what oil you use. Otherwise, follow your heart and the sage advise found here.
