New to the forums and got a question about 97 swaying problem.

What's up everybody. I'm thinking about purchasing a 97 pathfinder SE. It has 122,xxx with the 97 and the ''swaying'' problems seems to be pretty common. Does anyone know when, while driving you have noticed this? That way when I test drive it I can look out for this problem.

Any more info. on what to look out for before buying would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
jeremy

Usually when at freeway speeds and making a lane change or turn.

depending how bad, you'll even notice on 35+ roads. I had my buddy fix mine, fairly cheap. you have to replace either the bushings or I just bought the whole control arm assembly which was only a few bucks more. I suggest getting the bolts as well depending on what part of the country you live in. B/c I live in New England my were rusted to hell and they had to be hacked off. I solved my problem though, no more scary moments on the highway! good luck.

So.............is crux of the problem the lower control arm bushings wearing out causing the vehicle suspension move and therefore making the truck shift or "sway" on the road?
