Wiper Problems

My pathfinder has given me nothing but problems, the most recent of which being the windshield wipers just randomly come on. I really have no idea why it happens, but it is terribly annoying to be driving down the road on a sunny day, and the wipers just come on for no reason. I tried jiggling the switch, and that dosent seem to have any effect on it. Is there some control module or relay for it that goes bad frequently, or would cause this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

clean the connections for the wiper switch or just replace it.

Tried that, it didn't work, i'm thinking that there are some issues with the relay, now the delay will not work at all, and the wiper won't cut on when you spray fluid on the windshield

97 le, i think it might be the relay, unless there is some sensor in the motor for the wipers. any thoughts would really help
